Yes. Digimon is back, and this time it will not leave easily. This is Jeri (or Juri in the Japanise ones) from Digimon Tamers. I am going to do several of these if i have time. I want to re-draw a bunch of scenes and characters. A little less Monster Rancher meets Yu-Gi-Oh and a little more Naruto meets Serial Experiments Lain. If that makes any sence. Less little kidish with dumb lines (in english anyway) watered down plot and violence, and more complex story and a little darker.Anyone else think this is a good idea? I might even write a few short stories (or even a fan-manga if I can pull it off) if enough people think its a good idea.

XD Juri's early attempts to card-slash were funny-yet-cool all at the same time. Nice to see you've taken a shine to her.
Btw, the reason Tamers had such a wonderfully dark, and thought-provoking tone like Serial Experiments Lain is because it WAS produced under the same director who did Lain. ^^ (Note how in both shows you have characters named Juri, Alice and Reika [aka Riley]...) And, like I need to tell you, the same director intentionally scattered homages to Evangelion in Tamers, since he's a big fan.
Fan-manga, hmmm.... if you've got an idea and plenty of free time, go for it!

Yah. i was reading all his production notes the other day while i was doing research. it was kindof cool. he was talking about his SELain and NGE references in the show. ive been thinking of doing a fan manga on the origonal digimon adventure. bring the darkness of tamers an add a deeper storyline. put the children in danger a little more. maybe make the bad guys a little more evil (i didnt really "hate" any of them because they were always dropping stupid jokes or were cooler than the kids digimon at times

It's hard to put those production notes down. *.* ::had a similar run-in with that while doing research on how to draw those Bio-Merge 'interiors'::
Boot camp...? That's rough. I doubt many people there could tell you much about Digimon, if you find yourself stuck on an idea and need help. ^_^; I say make your manga as dark as you want - all the people who've watched the show have since matured a little and probably WANT something like that to suit their tastes.

thats what i was thinking. when i was a kid it was awesome but now i need something a little more. ill keep you in mind if i need to bounce an idea.
