It was supposed to be a day trip to the city, but Gareth had a bit too much fun in the bar that night and got into a long chat with some nice lady. All he could remember about her was her body and dress, and oddly enough couldn’t recall her face. That probably should have been reason enough to not sign the papers she passed to him. But he soon discovered the next morning that he wasn’t going to forget her body or dress even if he wanted to, because he wore both of them now.

What he’d signed was a contract permitting a head exchange surgery between himself and the daughter of a wealthy city councillor. She was arranged to get married to the son of a nationwide factory owner, but wanted to pursue an art career overseas. Desperate to escape, she consulted an underground head transplant organisation who provided her the contract and then requested for a second signature. With her new life, she was able to slip from the grasp of her father and would-be fiance.

That was all he managed to get from the case file left behind in the room before he saw a black car pull up along the main road. As suited men poured out, he stuffed what he could in the purse of the body thief and dashed out the back door. But he could only manage to hide in a back alley while catching his breath in an unfamiliar body and high heels while considering his choices. After all, even a handyman like him could surely learn how to become somebody’s obedient wife.
