After seeing the MKX story mode since I still have to till´June to play it,I gotta say it was pretty good!Excellent,but there were some moments which I got a little salty(Not sure that´s the correct word,but lol).Shinnok deserved way more screen time IMO,cause his badassery was so great.Really enjoyed how NRS re-introduced him in the new timeline

Cool drawing i've always liked Shinnok in chibi form.
He's the freaking bomb! Personally my favorite villain. They definitely gave him a better move set and appearance compared to previous games. But unfortunately producers, and even MK fans don't even give potential characters like himself any credit. Oh well, at least we got to see Shinn-burger in better action than before.

I know right?I was introduced to Shinnok in MK Armaggedon and liked him at first sight.In MK9 I was suprised to see him at the end and in MKX he totally earned a spot in my favs MK villains list
But yeah,unfortunately he didn´t get screentime enough to shine his awesomeness.Poor Shinnok,to tell you teh truth I was rooting for him to destroy Cassie only for she to be saved by Raiden so that the two gods could have their long awaited rematch with a final QTE and epic kombat.If the supposed story DLC rumour is true,then plz more screentime for gramps Shinnok, mr Boon^^

I really would have liked to see Raiden and Shinnok go head to head. The big info between them is that they despised eachother to the point of death.
But where is the proof??? Unfortunately Ed Boon considers Shinnok a mistake to had ever made him a boss character.

Couldn´t agree more.Not to mention they´re both responsible for extincting the Saurian race due to their colossal battles.
And in fact Ed just regreted making Shinnok a boss for MK4 because he was pretty much a Shang Tsung which couldn´t shapeshift.In MKX,he was perfect.But when Ed said the focus would be on the new blood,I wasn´t expecting to be the on SF faction for 75% of the game.No hate on them tho,but why not a klassic character powerful as Raiden or Sub Zero(Bi Han defeated Shinnok once) to make a final stand against Shinnok.The climax in that final battle was unfortunately a donwer.
Thx!Just imagine if Shinnok was casting an illusion on Cassie to believe she was winning the fight?Then the elder gods step in and give Raiden that golden power and then the true final battles begins?Kinda like the Shinnok illusions and his doppelganger which were sent to the battle of Armageddon I mean

I 100% agree with you on Shinnok deserving more screen time. He OWNED Chapter 1 and that left me wanting more of him. What little I got near the end of Story Mode wasn't enough. But it was still badass. So snobbish, so smug, so evil, so sexy! Favorite MK villain for sure now!

I know right?!He was such a great villain,and unfortunately had almost the same screen time as Godzilla(If you catch my drift).My only complaint about the story is the heavy focus on the SF team.Other iconic characters such as Ermac or newcomers such as Ferra/Torr didn´t even get their own chapter.Hell,I was rooting for a Shinnok chapter from the beggining!

Poor, poor Shinny! He deserved better
Of course I too was wishing for a Shinnok chapter. At least Raiden and Kotal got one, the latter was a pleasant surprise. Ermac, one of the most powerful MK entities ever, being even less relevant than Reptile was pretty disappointing. I'm not a fan of Ferra/Torr but I agree, they could've been more relevant. They're going to get an origin story of sorts in the comic book in the near future.

After seeing the Ermac intros of him saying that Shao Kahn is inside of him I thought"Holy shit now Ermac is gonna be a major plot point!!"But nope.
I really love the comics and the Ferra/Torr origin is really itriguing me,but unfortunately they along with Erron Black got in the game´s story mode with no cutscene regarding who they are.Hell,their names were not even mentioned

I was expecting the same too. Ermac is my fav ninja so I would've wanted him to be more relevant. Ironic how some of the most powerful entities in MKX's SM were terrible jobbers
In the meantime I read somewhere on Kittelsen's twitter that there will be a comic issue which will contain the origin stories for F/T, D'Vorah and either Erron Black or Reptile, I forgot which one of the two. I wonder how much back story we'll get from that, there can't be more than 6-7 pages/character...

Couldn´t agree moar.Ermac is one of my faves aswell,and all the hype I´ve been having about his involvement was bigger in the intros than in the story
Well,it seems they explained Reptile´s,D'vorah's and Ferra/Torr's in one comic!I was happy to see Kotal being more kind to his allies than I ever thought^^
Mileena giving that boot to D'vorah´s face tho.That explains Chapter´s 6 ending...

I want my Shinny back in action
I LOVED Shang Tsung in the MK movie but that wasn't canon. I loved Quan Chi in MK4 (and Conquest) but he was ruined for me when he got changed for MKDA and I never really liked him since then. My love for Shinnok didn't occur suddenly, it built up slowly but surely along the years. Now, with MKX, I can wholeheartedly say that he's my absolute favorite MK villain......and he barely appeared, got badly incapacitated and I already miss him
Argh, it's just like it was in the X-Men comics (I followed them for a couple of years but I quit the fandom). There were so many awe-inspiring, interesting, unique and above all, powerful mutant villains there, I swear I liked the franchise mostly because of them! And what was happening each fucking time in the pages of the comics? Those wonderful villains ended up being nothing more than terrible jobbers, getting easily defeated and humiliated by teenagers, women and all in all, lesser mutants than them. All that remained was a pompous speech and a display of power, they didn't get to do much more than that. IMO, the likes of Ermac and Shinnok were treated the exact same way in MKX's story and it sucks
I loved last Sunday's comic. Comic Kotal > game Kotal for sure. And I actually felt sorry for poor Reptile. His loyalty to Kotal is touching.
That was a nice bit of information, now we know what fueled the passion behind D'Vorah's kiss of death in the game

I know.Awesome villains nowadays are either using badass speeches but unfortunately get pwnd every single fucking time...Shinnok,almighty elder god defeated by Green Lantern empowered Cassie(Got nothing against her tho but still) and Error friggin Macro almost filling the role of a background character
It´s impressive how Kotal gets more badass within every comic.Poor Reptile indeed,always being the puppet of the emperor.Luckily Kotal sees more potential in him than Shao ever did.
And I still wonder what dat isn´t one of her in game Fatalities

Quan's MK9 self was a huge step forward from his fugly 3D era days. It started to re-establish the character and it gave us the legendary woolay! His MKX showing was really good. He might've been too much of a punching bag in SM but at least there was a logical explanation behind it (he didn't have the amulet).
Shinnok is the most charismatic and smart/scheming MK boss. Anyone who disagrees deserves a huge pimp slap
I'm not too fond of Reptile fighting-wise but I actually really want his bromance with Kotal to go on in the comics. Prominent neutral/evil character showing appreciation towards his subordinate = pure awesomeness in my book
D'Vorah's kiss of death is the best kiss of death fatality in MK's history! We should petition for it to be an actual fatality
