I didn't show some things in the story and after exchanging messages with weyrwoman-lessa I decided to post the first meeting of these two.
I don't think the situation was realistic, (probably not ... lol) But I wanted something like Romeo and Juliet. True love at first sight. I hope you like it and I also hope that it's not bad and corny. XD
I can say that it will not end well. And when they meet again during the crystal quest (Dragon’s Eye), at first they don’t get along (remember that Tristan needed to kidnap her to get the map that Jardan stole.). But ,in the end, they get closer to each other.
However Diandra refuses to stay with Tristan and they follow different paths for a while until meet again in the forest near the Iron Fortress when she and her friends are fleeing from enemies.
English is not my first language so there may be mistakes. But if I made a serious mistake, let me know.

I really need to create a separate Favorites folder specifically for your art. Ah, it's so beautiful, Juli! You shouldn't concern yourself whether or not people are tired of seeing romance scenes from you. You do them so wonderfully so. Do what you enjoy.
As the story goes, it all made sense to me AND I like where/how this scene fits in. I recall asking you many months ago concerning the timeline between Rikar's death and a scene where Diandra and Tristan were already 'a thing'. This fits nicely in that period. The conflict and bitterness needs to be there. It makes their bonding later in the story more meaningful in my opinion. There's a mutual attraction, a sort of guilt-ridden conscience for both of them, and yet they have to work it all out and hope that attraction remains. I love it!!!

Poor Diandra and Tristan. The mood has change pretty rapidly when she learned who he was. The surprises of fate are sometime cruel.
You wrote that you don't think that the situation was realistic, but when you read ancient stories, even historical ones, you realise that people's feelings were more "primitives".
Angers were more tempestuous, sadness were more overwhelming and love was more passionate and spontaneous. It doesn't mean it was a better love, but that means that love at first sight was more inclined to happen.
Anyway, the text was really well written, I had the impression to be there. ^^
The picture is great too with a super atmosphere and their gaze to each other says it all.
