Prior to the deployment of the highly potent CY-BOT nano fluid, the top secret labs within the research and development department had long been experimenting with cybernetic technology. The early examples involved extensive modifications to the human host, with invasive implants coupled with a cumbersome power pack and limited user interface. These bots were rather clunky in operation and had very limited development potential. However they did enable the company to make significant strides in AI command and motion control.
How poor Kara ended up on the program is still largely a mystery; rumour has it that the Director of Cybernetic Research was intensely jealous of the young woman’s beauty and popularity amongst her peers, although this may have been just a coincidence.
