Description
This is my 25-hour late submission for the Shin Exchange for May.I tried digital colouring and I think I started off okay - this is really only base colour. If I had to do all the details I think I would drive myself mad with feathers. Plus, I have a mouse and the lack of pressure sensitivity frustrates me endlessly. So.
Verlidane, I hope you like it and that I haven't offended you terribly with my laissez-faire re-design of your character.
EDIT: fixed some lines that didn't erase and a minor perspective issue. Also, the base sketch is a plain 0.5 HB mech pencil in my nice moleskine notebook (the cream-coloured paper made a perfect undertone).

It's great! i really love the head, spines and tail but i have to be honest, i do like the wings of your other dragons better. I dont know, it's just a preference. great job with the coluers. The reddi-orange suits it
.^_^.

Hey, thanks.
I didn't spend as much time as I would've liked on these wings... but I could drive myself insane over feather detail, eh. Thanks again.

I agree driving yourself insane is..probebly not the best option out there for you.

Heh. That might've already happened.
I would gladly spend the extra time adding details as long as it remained interesting. Any longer and we're talking serious business.

Oh-no. Not serious business!
nah, i get what you mean... about the interesting part, i've never been totally insane before, but trust me ...i've been close.
happy drawing and... you may want to post some bat wings/bats soon, you'd hate for me to get pushy.

holy moley this is great! 8D i adore all of the detail in this, the lack of shading really brings out the detail in the face, wings, and body. you got the deign almost perfectly correct too, and the parts that were different i think i might keep if you dont mind.
thank you!
(i will favorite as soon as i can, since the computer i mostly use will not let me. >.< but an invisible fave for you! )

Nice work; the cream-colored paper, along with the lineart and colors, gives him/her a deliciously aged look.

Thanks. Yeah - the colour of the moleskine paper is a really nice warm yellow-white and I had to play around with the colours a bit to have them complement the paper.

The style of colouring makes it look like something out of a myth and gives the dragon an air of mystery. His/her/its face is very impressive I especially like the eye. The only thing bugging me is that final spine overlaying its ear doesn't look quite right, but really that could simply be the chosen perspective. I don't think I've ever heard "laissez-faire" used in that context before though
Great job on the piece

Hey, thanks! I appreciate the critique too, I need it.
Yup. It's not really a mistake - there's an extra line on the nose that makes the head seem like its facing you more, which throws off the spines. It's an old line (I guess it didn't erase properly?) so I can just go into photoshop and get it out of there and problem solved. If you ignore that line the perspective is okay (I think.) Here, I'll edit it now - by the time you check I should have it fixed.
As for "laissez-faire", I had a reference but the wings were super boring (all black feathers) so... yeah.

That's beautiful! I really like it's pose, especially the wings and how its head is turned slightly towards the viewer. I love the colors you chose. They look great together and go well with the backround too.

woah i think it turned out beautiful! lots of style in it and the flat coloring makes you pay attention to the detail in the lineart ;A; augh i love it. wow, with how i'm reacting to it, you'd think it was for me, wouldn't you.

Ouch...digitally colouring with a mouse is painful on the hand and wrist. D: I used to be able to do it just fine, but then fell out of practice...and now it takes forever. So, I feel your pain. D:
Pretty nice work though, I think.
