***DOWNLOAD FOR FULL RESOLUTION***Summer is upon us, so I painted this up. I wanted to do something unique for the lighting, with the character in a dim foreground, with a bright background.
Yes, I've drawn a lot of shirtless characters lately.
Felt wrong to do this guy in anything other than a bathing suit though. Anatomy could be better - but more life drawing should help that. 
No reference was used, although the can was inspired by a can of Brisk Ice Tea. My friend showed me this picture though, after I showed him my art. Creepily similar! [link]

this is probably your best painting so far. I'm serious! - that's great shading and texture there. And, despite your worries, the anatomy looks okay to me.

I don't think there's much of a problem in drawing topless character, whether they're male or female.
All that matter right now, in my opinion, is that this picture is incredible in every aspect.

One effect I haven't seen used very often, but I've found attention grabbing in real life, is when there is a bright mid ground but dim back and fore ground - like when it is partially cloudy and the sun shot is in the middle of your field of view.

I have to admit I've always thought otters looked best with minimal clothing... Hey, I just mean that from an artistic standpoint, okay. I just pray to God that it gets hot enough this summer that I can ware a swimsuit. This picture certainly gives me something to look forward to this summer. Beautful work. Now you have me dreaming.

Well sure, take the Taggerung for example. He totally put the awesomeness in kilts. You can't really spell "awesome" with "kilt" but you know what I mean. Thanks for the watching me brother.
