Figured I should do some ACTUAL Redwall fanart for once.
And what villain is cooler than Badrang? 
Used some Youtube videos of the TV series for reference in this. The lightning was done by hand, and the clouds were done with the aid of some cloud brushes.
I am glad how this turned out!
I should do this more often. And since I still have all the saved files, I'll be posting a bunch of WIP pics in scraps tomorrow.Hope you all like it!

My only question is if he's a stout, why in the show does he look like a wolf?

My only guess is they decided a wolf-ish face structure would make him look more villainous and stand out from the other, real stoats in the show. It's not accurate, but sometimes animations make sacrifices to realism to have a better impact story-wise.
This is just my personal guess, though!

Haha, I'm glad you like it! I'm still surprised how well it holds up even after all these years ago. Normally I look back at my old work and get disconcerted by over all the flaws in drawings I used to be proud of, but somehow this one still holds up to me. (Although there are still some things that I think could be fixed.

I like the first-hand experience you're giving the viewer with this piece. Instead of just drawing a picture with Badrang about to kill Martin, you've put /us/ in Martin's position, allowing us to feel the tension of the moment, rather than to just see it.
