Is the guy on right supposed to be a flying squirrel or something? He sure doesn't look like a bat to me, and there's no other sensible explanation for that, uh, 'fabric' over his right arm.

They're both characters from a homebrew D&D campaign I'm running. Lugos, to the right, is what's known as a Sky Beastfolk, or more commonly known as a Skymouse. Their primary characteristic is their patagia, which allows them to glide in the air. During the creation process, they were known as "flying squirrelotters", though their appearance can be any variation of various rodents, weasels, otters, ect.

The marks signify their pact to their Goddess, through which they receive their magic and other divine powers. She is known as the Daughter of the Sun, and takes the shape of a majestic sunfire bird - hence the feather.Β
