Description Expression sheet commissions are now open! Prices are based on how much time it would take me to complete certain styles of imagery, with a fair hourly wage factored in.

These expression sheets can also be converted into Telegram stickers upon request, for an extra 50 cents per expression.

For more info, just click over here !

If you're interested, send me a note! I'll send you a reply with a form to fill out. Cheers!

Are u an art student?

I sort of was? I went to a local community college with the intention of honing my art skills, but only a very small part of the courses I took ended up being about that. It was mostly web design and non-drawing related things, sadly. Still learned some useful things though~

I would have loved to have gone to a proper animation school like Sheridan, or Ringling, or even Cal Arts, but sadly money meant I couldn't move away from home, much less pay for tuition at such places. Doing my best to learn on my own though.

At the moment I'm a freelance artist!

Woah! How much do freelancers actually EARN? I'm just really curious I've seen many people who work as freelancers but aren't commisioners rare?

Temiree In reply to Ember-the-sandwing [2016-03-20 15:58:01 +0000 UTC]

It varies, depending on the cost of living of where the artists live, who the client is, and how efficient the artist is with their time and art making abilities. The faster you are at making quality work, technically, the more you're making per hour.

Also having more experience, a stronger portfolio, more demand, and other factors can go into how much a freelance artist earns. They usually charge day rates. A day rate is roughly 8 hours of work - a typical work day. The rate itself can, again, fluctuate wildly. It can be as low as a day's worth of minimum wage, or as I heard from a former instructor of mine, up to $1000 a day in expensive places like California if the artist is in serious demand. The latter is very, very rare though, but some companies are willing to pay it to get certain kinds of talent working for them.

The general idea is the freelance artist has to cover costs for themselves that usually a company would cover for their employee. This can include things like health/dental benefits, equipment, program subscriptions, insurance, income taxes, utilities and more. That's why typically freelance artists might charge a rate that, when converted into an hourly rate, would be higher than someone working for a company. It's because they have more costs to cover, but since companies hiring freelancers don't need to pay for all that extra stuff for them, they're willing to pay a higher rate since it would come out about the same in the end cost-wise.

Hopefully that makes sense. I'm still a newbie at actual freelancing and haven't gotten a whole lot of work yet, so I'm padding my savings with whatever art commissions I can get the opportunity to work on. Art commissions are cheaper because the people asking for them aren't companies, but they come with less options, like not being allowed the rights to use the artwork for commercial purposes, limited time for revisions, and things like that.

Such a cool idea! I want to get some of my character Deja, but I'm a bit strapped for cash at the moment. Perhaps over the summer, when I have a job again, I can come and order some

Yeah, feel free to poke me again about this down the road! Just be sure to link me this submission so I'm reminded of what sort of thing I have to do. Or, alternatively, if something I'm doing in the summer catches your eye more, you're free to get something like that instead.

Is this one of your new experiaments that acts as commissions?Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Temiree In reply to CZProductions [2016-03-16 05:34:24 +0000 UTC]

I love drawing expressions, and have drawn expression sheets before , they've just never been very organized until now. x) I figured I'd give offering them as commissions a shot, in case anyone really liked them. If I don't get any takers, I'll move onto something else.
