This is the music that inspired this scene: www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7L6rU…

This was a page I've been looking forward to doing for a long time, and that last panel in particular, ever since I originally did the script back in early 2019. The way Nes's anxiety and internal self-contempt builds over the course of the previous pages, all leading up into the frame where Nes just throws himself at his Dad for comfort and reassurance, reminiscent of how he hugged his Dad back in the locker room scene with his head pushed against his chest (yes, that was planned!). Nes is afraid to look weak in front of his Dad, hence why he hides his face.

Another part of this page that was foreshadowed is Nes's dialogue, originally shown back on page 20 after he gets knocked out: www.deviantart.com/temiree/art…

I love how this page turned out. I'm sorry it took so long! I was afraid to screw it up, so I procrastinated for a while, haha.

Anyhow, enjoy. Although this is my personal favourite part of the story, there's still plenty more to come.

Man, surely it does hit strongly in the feels depending on the situation you're in. I know how it feels not accomplish what you set up to do, you end up having these sad and negative emotions for what you failed, and the first thing you think is that you've disappointed your parents, that if you failed at something huge, like a signature or a semester, you've basically not reach the level that they were...and you breakdown out of frustration thinking they won't love you the same, but it's not true, absolutely not true. I think this chapter is really phenomenal because it captures the very feeling of not being able to be as successful as our parents, if Nes fails, he feels he isn't at the level of his dad, making him think that Taylor doesn't love him, which is not true. Your family will love you and support you in your hardships. It's always a matter of time in what you want to do to change it. This chapter was a masterpiece Tem, thank you

That's just horrible. I really think that teachers and generations have lost the actual meaning of sports and competition, that it ain't about winning but having fun is what hugely matters the most. Kids should definitely take this lesson at heart

Most certainly, there was this French-Spansih short movie called L'Equip Petit, that highlights the importance of always having fun despite losing matches, and it's a football team of young kids that loses every match, but ends up always having fun just because of playing football. It's a really beautiful short youtu.be/76FEWcyFCwM

this is just heartbreaking, picking a kid who's smaller than the rest of them and saying that his dad won't love him that's sad

Completely in agreement, and right now it makes me understand perfectly why Nes' mom did it. And it was out of the most safety and love for him. Nothing else and nothing more
