Description
At the moment I'm doing my best to draw things and not worry about accuracy or authenticity, such as when it comes to anatomy. I feel one of the things that has been holding me back from drawing more, particularly bigger pieces, is the fear of being inaccurate and getting called on it in a critique. It's good to have authentic drawings, but I've been going overboard. I get the inspiration to draw something, but inside I tell myself I need to do a lot of research before I do - which results in procrastination or losing a hold of that inspiration and not having it by the time I'm ready. I think it came from 3D class, with how much photographic reference we've been told to use beforehand.I drew this raccoon after looking at a few pictures for a few minutes and doing a couple of quick thumbnail sketches, and then just drawing care-free. It was really refreshing to do! I'm sure there are details off or things that are not perfect, but I drew it with my own spirit and that's what I want to focus on now. I think I'll improve more that way.

That's really cool, and I've felt the same way about anatomy lately. Whatever makes it easier to draw is good.

XD you posted it! I like what you did with the feet, and them devious eyes. It's good to just let go and draw from the soul, I wish I could do it.

Yeah the feet are probably my favorite part of this.
