Black cat is always a favourite of mine, and this time I decided to attack the piece with some different colours in mind. Even though it is done in markers and pencil, I wanted to apply the same principles as using watercolours, where black is not used, but rather all other colours are used in it's place. I wish the camera picked up all the purples and pinks in the suit, but alas, it didn't come through for some reason. So this is one of those pieces that looks loads better in person.14x17 on bristol board.

I just love when you draw this lady!!! She's so beautiful and you do so well with her colors! Especially with the white hair! I think white always risks being dull and flat looking and you always manage to bright it to life!!!

Thank hun! This was nice to do as I chose to use the blue and use that as the black, and it did give a nice finish I felt. Not sure if she was all that popular in the end, I mean this version, but I liked changing it up a bit.

Well, I think your other Black Cat painting is my favorite, just b/c of that glorious hair! But this one is beautiful and very playful too. What a good idea to use blue! It made her outfit pop. I would have never thought of that!
