Huh... I think, it depends on style of art. I mean there are different ways to gain such result.
In my case i just could not do them more @anonimus@ and abstract - they are part of composition.

Closing of race - you mean the final stride or what?)
Yep. And that is fenominal) In common - white horses are not the best runners.

You're right, there are a bunch of ways to get that "anonymous" look to the other horses -- the technique you used looks really good.

Yes, I was thinking of that last stretch run coming into the grandstands. I'm working on a piece for fun that has the three top finishing horses galloping along. It's making me smile because Indiana Jones, our 3rd place horse, is a Shetland pony. My own horse Shirobe is only 14.3 hh, so she is barely horse-sized.

And thank you kindly, I love the manga-format, it's just fun to do.

Just can`t imagine that sort of apocalypsis that would make shetland pony come third. I mean if not to juge by art.. mass falling of rest of the horses? Massive explosion on the track?

I got it done and posted tonight: [link] Eidelweiss looks a bit more "pink" in color rather than gray. I guessed her skin was pink under her white fur.

Ponies can be really fast - I used to race my Quarter Horse mare against a friend's Hackney pony and he was incredibly fast for 1/4 mile. If we didn't get a really good start, he would beat us and my mare loved to race.

Yep. It`s pink. But you can see it (i mean if not to count on areas around eyes and nose,) only when she gets really wet from sweat or water. But anyway, you`ve done everything right!

Well, you know there are different ponies. I mean, in Europe and America you would call "a pony" almost every horse that is lower then 140 cm, and here, in Russia we have quite a few ponies and for long time it was only very small Shetland ponies and.. Well, in other words, I believe that ponies can go really fast)

Yep, this is photoshop cs 5.
There is one very nice brush, similar to those in SAI paint tool.

I just don`t remember the name of brush. But it`s stroke icon looks like stripe with no difference in wide, but it`s tips are blured/ This brush was and in earlier versions, but it leaved ugly circles.
any way, it`s easy to find brush, really. it` one of the first 9 brushes or so with default settings.
For brush i used all the time 82% nransparency.
I`ll look tommorow into my photoshop and find the name, if you`ll still need it)

Well, horses ae my passion from childhood time, so i`ve got alot of practice of drawing them.
Only one thing i can say - it is very useful to do from 10 to 15 sketches per day. And use some sculpture references in the beginning. Even fine breyer horses will be good for this. Draw fast sketches from different angles of this plastic horses and it may give you good improove bust)
I` m glad that this pic deliver all this senses. All this effects. Because speed is what this pic is all about)
