Aside from Ruby herself, Mitta is the least guilty of them, and hence the most free-willed.

I'd say she deserves to have less effect done to her by the Curse since she has guilt over what happened and knowing the filly didn't deserve what happened to her.
However her inactions to save the filly still damned her to a lesser version of the Curse.
The others deserved every bit of what they have had happen to them. They take the innocent life away from a mere child so they in turn get their own happiness, freedom and sense of calm after death taken from them and be forced to arise as zombies for all eternity.
No rest for the wicked.

i know because when i first looked at ruby i thought she was derpy and a mare but when i looked closer she look the same hight as applebloom, different shaped cutie mark, hair & not a Pegasus. although her coat matchs derpy's with hair almost colored like hers too.

I changed the dialoge from here to the last page. This sounds better to me, and will help with the other novels.

ever notice that mitta, even in the game version has a more refined zombie pony body. I mean, she's not all skeleton and stuff and her eyes are more of a what-you-might-call-it? I have no idea. Is this a sign she is one of the good ponies?
