So this is the Lai'ane species, huh? She looks a lot like a peacock mixed with fox and a scorpion fish.

...wow. So bright, how could anyone fail to notice this? And all these amazing little details and subtle shading... Clearly, you spent soem time. *bows to your skills* And the flow of energy in the lines... Such an interesting pose, too. Active yet relaxed at the same time. Poetry in motion. The expression is a bit hard to read - was that deliberate? - but after studying on this for awhile, I've decided that maybe there is some laughter happening here. Makes me wonder if this character just successfully pulled a prank on someone and is perhaps being chased off by them. Hrm. The background adds to this impression. At first glance the background doesn't attract the attention too much but once I started wondering about the story this picture told... I came to understand that this character is headed out the door, perhaps. Nicely done.

The expression was meant to be an 'in the moment' kind of expression. Someone having fun but also concentrating as she is a dancer/performer. You see it sometimes when watching videos of performers where they are in the middle of a move and there expression is in between a smile or laugh but skirts into a slightly more distracted look as they are trying to accomplish something specific in their routine.
I didn't want to make the background too flashy or it would downplay the already flashy attire of the character so leaving it a bit more simple seemed to accentuate her pose and movement, for me. I will leave what she is doing, up to interpretation! ^_^
