XD They aren't feeding him anti growth hormones. Its greed and wanting to hoard items (that a dragon normally does) that makes him get bigger. xDΒ I'm sure though, that there is another way for dragons who aren't greedy, to grow up. Might just take longer. I mean, there were teenage dragons in one episode where spikes visits the dragon mountain. So. : )

Those are very nice conjectures, and I would personally love to see it turn out like that for Spike. Well, the show demonstrated not to be shy for some radical character developments, so let's see if they have something in store for him, too.
