HIIII!

My last piece consisted of depressing poetry, so I thought I'd do one of my chibis this time. *Quietly disclaims in the background* I don't own any cute demons from YYH, but I kind of wish I did.

I thought I'd do this picture because.... well... just because. It's cute and it has Hiei and Kurama and Cookies. Do I need any other reason? XD Anyway, thanks to Krissie for reminding me edit this bit in. Yes, this pic is a slightly ironic reference to volume three of the Yu Yu Hakusho Manga. ^_^ If you've read it you'll know I guess. If you haven't... LOOKIT ALL THE PRETTY COLOURS! *Squee*

Hiei: His outfit is, well, it's black. I thought adding light reflections on his coat kind of took away from his pissed-off chibiness, so I just left it as a solid black. He wasn't too hard to draw, but erasing all the CG errors between all those spikes was a bitch.

Kurama: He presented a few problems. First of all, his hair. I knew what colour it was MEANT to be... I just really wanted to make it brighter and more pink than that... But in the end, I resisted temptation. Then came the CGing of his clothes. I REALLY wanted to put him in his pink Dark Tourny outfit, but... if I was realistic, He would be just a beacon of girly colour. Cool as that is, not everyone is as Kurama-is-fabulous fanatical as me. So I picked something else.

I started this piece this afternoon and finished it at about eight o'clock in the evening. I added shadows at one point, to the two figures and the shelf, but it turns out that I haven't quite mastered the art of grey shadowing yet. I still have the unflattened photoshop file with it's bazillion layers, maybe one day I will resubmit this piece complete with shadows. But don't count on it. All my attempts took away from the chibi effect somewhat anyway.

Also, since this is my first piece after getting my 1000th hit, I'd like to say a huge THANK YOU!!!!! To EVERYONE who has supported me since I joined DA just over a year ago. It means a lot to me that I've managed to get as far as 1000 hits, and I couldn't have done it, obviously, without all the people who wanted to look at my work, so THANK YOU!!!!
