Description Part 1

Egads!! I forgot to mention that you need to double this measurement for 1. In other words my doll is 22 cm from shoulder to ankle, so the piece of fabric should be 44cm plus 1cm for hem allowance, therefore total fabric length should be 45 cms!!

Amazing how little info you can get into the photo!! Also need to add, measure the doll from mid back to shoulder joint, then add on 1cm for seam allowances. In this instance of a 27cm Obitsu doll, the first measurement was 4cm, so the total width of this piece of fabric is 5cm!!

About the mid-back to shoulder measurement. I think we have the same obitsu body type. 27cm as well. But how do you measure exactly? I try to start from the back of the neck to the shoulder joint and I only get 2cm. So just wanted to make sure

So let me get this straight. For the two pieces, their length is from shoulder to ankle x2+1 and the width is equal from mid back to shoulder? Am I right?

Ok, so I have a few comments/questions/suggestions: first, how wide should you cut the meter? 6 inches? 6 feet? from shoulder to wrist? (You might answer that in the very next tutorial step, but I think it should be stated before you start cutting.)

Also, could you put the links up on this page so I don't have to go back to the tutorial first page? It's more user-friendly.

Other than that, I'm excited about making kimonos!!!

I put the links in the main one, then you just press the back button

I think I answered what you mean in my comments section? If not, then I'm not sure what you mean!! What do you mean by cut the meter?

The basic measurements you should take are: shoulder to ankle, mid back to just below the shoulder joint, just below the shoulder joint to wrist and they should be the only ones you need (obviously the last is for the sleeve) and always allow for seam allowances ^__^

Hmm, I think I made myself look silly. Sorry.

Well, I still think links to the next one on the comments would make it a smooth travel through the tutorial, but it's totally you're choice. It's not hard to navigate unless you're like me and making lots of comments.

And, yes, I meant from mid-back to shoulder, which you mentioned in the comments. Sorry about that bit-- I don't know what I was thinking, but obviously I wasn't thinking much.
