sort of, there are a hand full of fictional animal tails that still classify as an "animal" material type
unicorn tails are the same as lion and cow tails so they pass, and a dragon or dinosaur tail is the same as a fur covered lizard's tail
-- since all animal tails are furr covered
Furr covered fish tails also pass and devil tails are shown on the chart.
If youre unsure about a fictional animal and if it passes feel free to show us an example and we will take a look
in general all tails must be "Tail" shaped
and all "animal" type tails must be covered in fur

Is it possible to use a mechanical tail trait that has scales on the end of it? Similar to the Scales of Justice?

Skeleton tails are not allowed, however you can achieve a similar look with bone shaped candies. There’s an example of a tail made of bone shaped candies in my most recent batch.

Can goo tails change shape? Or is it always the same shape you designed your floss with?
Also can my Floss have multiple small goo tails that merge and unmerge from a big one depending on the situation? Of course as a multiple tail trait, just asking if they can become one and separate again. It's goo afterall.
Just thinking too much about my floss wearing clothes comfortably, and started wondering about this, because it would be cool.

sorry, the shape of the tail is a part of the design so to be able to change shape or split up a design change form would be required. you can only have 1 design active at a time. The goo is not soft and malleable throughout, but rather solid in the center and less solid towards the outside. this is why the tail does not completely get washed away in the shower or rain.
