Polyhymnia, the Muse of Hymns.See the other Muses:
Calliope - Clio - Erato
Polyhymnia - Melpomene - Thalia
Urania - Terpsichore - Euterpe
She made me a bit nervous since whenever religion or anything sacred comes into play, well, it's always a touchy subject. I truly hope that I'm not offending anyone's beliefs with the way I portrayed her. I wanted to make her Middle Eastern (and hopefully that comes across) because so many prominent religions have a starting place in the Middle East, though I don't believe that Polyhymnia is any specific religion. I think that she is whatever you need her to be when she inspires you, and if anyone asks her directly, she's always vague about what she, herself, believes in.
I had a lot of fun with her outfit, particularly the top part of it. Much like how I didn't want Thalia to outright look like a clown, I wanted Polyhymnia's outfit to sort of reference back to things like portraits of the Virgin Mary without outright dressing her that way. She wears prayer beads on her wrists, one of which has the astrological symbol for the sun.
Polyhymnia is sometimes called "Poly" by the other Muses, as it's less of a mouthful. She's very kind and patient and often gives the best advice out of all her "sisters," though many don't choose to take it. Once she's made her mind up about something, it's quite difficult to tell her any different, but she's not quick to pass judgment and is the only Muse that isn't a huge gossip. She travels by her own ability to fly.
Something Quite Peculiar - Chapter 01
Chapter One: Reminiscing
The cabin could barely be called a cabin. It was more of a hut: a building in the loosest sense of the word. It had four walls and a roof, a door, a window, and a chimney that looked as though it were ready to fall over. Truthfully, it appeared that a strong gust of wind could knock down the shack, with signs surrounding which read, “Condemned” and “No Trespassing.”
The small structure was concealed behind several large trees, and was incredibly easy to miss, nestled within the forest that rarely anyone ventured into.
It was always snowing around this cabin, regardless of the season.
Inside was exceedingly less interesting than outside, if at all possible. There was only one room, which contained a mattress and pillow in the corner, a fireplace that appeared to have not been used in decades, and a few shelves on one of the walls.
The shelves proved to be at least somewhat intriguing, containing items such as a matryoshka do

I am religious, and I think that she is beautiful. A lovely design. Not offensive at all.
