Description
Finally my carcharodontosaurus saharicus, the king of africa, is finished. This picture is one of my bests. I really like it because it has so much athmosphere, lke the waterfall and the rainbow that is produced by it. This idea came from theIguassu waterfalls in South America, where the water that comes down the rocks goes into fume and produces several rainbows. Carcharodontosaurus was one of the biggest carnivores ever and the second largest on Africa , only spinosaurus was bigger, but the latter was mostly a fish eater or hunted medium sized animals. Both lived in the same region during the same time, but it seems that they were in different ecological niches. Carcharodontosaurus was a big game hunter, atacking and eating everything that fit into his food spectrum; from little ornithopods, to giants like Paralititan. Carcharodontosaurus was ca 13metres long, and had a weight of ca 6 tons. His name means shark toothed lizard because his teeth look like those of a shark, they have a triangular shape with a serration on the edges so he could slice through meat easily. Carcharodontosaurus is the biggest of the carcharodontosaurids, the family where carcharodontosaurus belongs to. He lived in the middle to the late cretaceous around 95 million years ago, but died out before the dinosaurs went extinct. In the backround you can see a big Azhdarchid pterosaur, Hatzegopteryx, and on the cliff a Rugops primus, an african 9 meter long Abelisaurid.Related content
