I think for Liopleurodon that would be almost a right size.

And the lying Liopleurodon stole his thunder.

Is it possible for a marine reptile (like P. funkei) to swim into a river?

dont really know but there was a mosasaur named goronyosaurus that probably lived in rivers so it might not be so implausible giving that the river of course has to be big enouhg to accomodate such aΒ large animal as predator X. But I honestly cant say it for sure, IΒ΄m not a palaeontologist

A bit too shrink-wrapped. The head and neck should have a smooth contour.

I remembered when Predator X and Liopleurodon were the ultimate sea monsters.

At the time Predator X was considered the ultimate sea monster, Liopleurodon was already known to have a maximum size of 7m.

Actually it was the other way around. The 25m Β LiopleurodonΒ has always been only a flimsy hypothesis made by WWD.

Predator X probably wasn't the biggest of its family, or even its genus. Pliosaurus funkei had a 2.5 meter long skull. Meanwhile, Pliosaurus macromerus had a 3 meter long skull.
the result you get is that if X was 12-13 meters long, P. Macromerus was 14.4-15.6 meters long, at which point, it would definitely be the larger animal.

Well the Cumnor mandible is apparently overly reconstructed and according to Richard Forrest it should be about 1 metres shorter. So. P. funkei is still potentially in the top league.
Plus, if you read McHenry thesis, he estimates P. macromerus at 12.8 m. The mandible was 3 m but the condylobassal skull length is what is is used to calculate body size, and a 3 m mandible would suggest a CBL of 2.5 m. Hence, the upper estimate of P. funkei is similar to the Cumnor Β P. macromerus.
But the vertebra of P. funkei seem to indicate its length could be about 11 m, they are just about the same size as the largest Kronosaurus vertebra.
Also, it is not even sure the Cumnor mandible is from Pliosaurus macromerus, Benson 2012 refers it at P. rossicus.
