Description
And heres the first pic of my new series: speculative behaviour. And for the first one I chose the biggest and one of the most unusualy theropods , the mighty spinosaurus. Now we all have seen the new find about the ridiculously short legs of this creature which suggests a lifestyle very similar to a crocodile, maybe even mroe than we think of. modern crocodile often burrow holes in the riverbanks where they rest. maybe spinosaurus could have done the same, he surely had the tools for it, a huge head andΒ giant claws. Sure, the sail would have meant that it had to be a pretty big cave but hey, it was a huge dinosaur so who knows, this series isnt beeing called SPECUATIVE behavior for nothinNote: yes the entrance seems pretty smal for it to get in but it might be the smalles part of the cave I depicted, after all its a crossection

What if there was some form of freshwater crustacean or fish that burrowed into the ground underwater? Maybe Spinosaurus would use whisker-like feathers and/or its claws and snout to dig around and find it, kind of like what modern day dolphins do.

Δ°ts legs are still Bigger than an avarage man. I am sure it can walk properly on land. Like A Pelican !
However Δ± doubt that the New fossil belong to an adult.
But a juvenile iΕ very possible

It doesn't belong to a juvenile and of course the legs are bigger than a man! Or do you want yoult's Spinofaarus?

Being realistic Spinosaurus probably couldn't dig a cave. However nothing says it couldn't have lived in already existing caves.

I first had doubts as well but modern crocs can do it, and they do it with their jaws!Β But yes, it might have used caves from other animals, maybe from sarcosuchus, if it dug holes like crocs do today.

Spinosaurus lived after Sarcosuchus was extinct.

Stunning drawing Hmm well we cant tell how broad the entrance is, it could roll over if the height of the entrance is too low for its sail
HMm well now we can say it would not be fit to fight a T-rex or bigger carnivores with how it walked and design but it could still do damage with a bite with that mouth

thanks my friend, I really think this is one of my best ones.
Yeah, I also think there wouldnt be much of a fight , T rex would own it, but they are 2 totally differnte animals and they filled completely different ecological niches.

T. rex wouldn't be able to kill it. Its jaws don't work that way. Yes it has a bite force that could snap the bones-but that same adaptation keeps it from biting something this big and unwieldy.
That said, Spinosaurus is ridiculously slow. It has enough strength...but not nearly enough speed.

And Spinosaururs probably burrowed holes like modern crocodiles. But hey - thatΒ΄s just a theory. A DINO THEORY! Thanks for watching!

Question but i'm probably gonna regret asking but is this the bipedal spino or the 4 legged one?I can't really tell in picture as he or she is sorta resting on it's belly.

ThereΒ΄s a difference between having a medium-sized crocodile burrowing a hole for itself and having an animal as tall as an elephant burrowing a hole for itself.
Hey, did you know that crocodiles can jump so far upwards from the water that theyΒ΄re practically standing on their tails? I wonder why none has drawn a Spinosaurus doing that yet.

Ah, sorry. I thought it could be possible for one to squat low underwater and launch a portion of its body out, like crocs hunt wildebeest. Couldn't tell that it was sarcasm, and u don't have to be like such.
