Every morning, Reno reluctantly falls out of bed and flips through the want ads in the Wall Market Journal, hoping just one day he'll find that perfect job he was born to do. Not many openings for official Quality Control Beer Tester Video Game Junkie, though. Ah well. Off to work it is...I did NOT like Reno's design in Advent Children...well. At first. It's grown on me I guess since then. But I always pictured him scruffy...Irish...wiry. Kind of a punk'd out Ewan McGreggor, not that pretty-boy whateveritis in AC. So here's my version. I hope you like it. Have fun picking out all the references in the picture.

Dude, you're right. I'm also annoyed at the Advent Children design for Reno. I just want to tell the sudden rush of fangirls (because of his pretty boy design in AC) who like Reno without knowing what he was really like to fuck off. They don't know half of what this guy is.

I'm loving this -- and I'm with you on the whole AC pretty boy thing. That was a bit of a... surprise. (And damn, is he pretty or what?! He almost out does Cloud...!) Ahem.
Anyway, the details in this are great! My favorite has to be the Scorpion action figure. That alone is worth the favorite. Your description for this piece was pretty kick-ass, too

Really really good. I do agree about that bit about Reno`s AC character design! (fangirl complaint: had you notice those little red marks under his eyes he had on the ff7 game design? I always thought them to be scars! always drew them as scars! and now.....they`re j-rockish visual hair!! and how old is he, 20?)
anyway, I like your version better than Advent Children`s version. Not that I`m not biting my nails waiting for Advent Children. XD

You don't think Reno's wiry in Advent Children?! He looks almost anarexic (so I can't spell...) in one of the pictures I have of him. And seeing as he lives on an entirely different planet, and his creater/char. designer is Japanese, I can see why he's not Irish looking.

I dunno if you remember me, but you helped me get my first copy of Photoshop a couple've years ago (which I'm in debt to you for, as I'm still using the same version now) and we chatted online a bit. So, HI! ^^ Anyway, a friend told me that he had found the ultimate Reno fanart--and I didn't believe him--and directed me here and good god, I believe him now! He had to put up with much "omg the coffee mug and the tie and the EYES" squeeing, and then "TERI DREW IT! TERI DREW IT!" squealing. But, anyway: I love this. It's stunningly realistic; actually, it's just plain stunning. For some reason, his feet especially strike me; the shading and the coloration and everything and just GUH. I was wondering if it'd be okay if I made a livejournal icon out of this; I'd obviously credit you and include a link to TLS Digital. But if not, that's cool too; thank you for the masculine Irish (SQUEE) Reno!

The little things that made me giggle: 1. The Scorpion action figure (my favorite character from a fighting game EVAR), 2. The Moogle PJ bottoms Reno's sportin' and 3. The Shin-Ra employee handbook that he has proping the chair up

This is a very thorough and excellent piece. The fan on the chair looks very natural, and I also like how the pants are rendered. The reflective surfaces on the guy's hair and different things in the picture are really well done. Quite nice.
