Not often i prefer a simple photo - but this has been taken so well, I can feel it and here it as it touches the ground, I love the rain, great photo!

In my usual "just throwing things out there" rambling style:
From a top-to-bottom point of view, there are a few layers of texture going on but these also create a good sense of depth in there, too.
The contrast between the bright band at the bottom and the rest of the image is nicely balanced and provides tension that keeps the attention moving around.
The cool part is the sense of mystery in the background. It really leaves something to the imagination, allowing all kinds of possibilities that aren't even in the picture.
