The RP!

Christmas had infused one blue quad with tremendous spirit as he trotted down the familiar path to Wynsiph. His tail wagged excitedly behind him as he went along, a loping hop in his stride. Around his shoulder, the male wore a satchel containing small wrapped gifts for all of his friends. It was rather heavy, but his powerful frame was more than capable of taking the strain. His next stop was at the home of a recent friend, where he'd come to a stop, knocking softly at the door. He was always wary of knocking too heavy pawed.

Nara sat on her bed, reading a book. She shivered a bit - it was a cold winter day. She closed the book and was about to go make some hot cocoa when she heard a knock on the door. She wondered who it was - hardly anyone ever visited her! She opened the door to find Polaris waiting on the doorstep. "Polaris!" she cried. "It's good to see you."

"Hi!" Polaris greeted, his antenna perking up wards at her decleration which assured him that he wasn't an unwanted visitor. Yet, all the same he had to scramble, "I really hope I didn't interrupt anything," he smiled sheepishly. It was a bit too late if he had, he supposed with a certain amount of nerves. "I just wanted to stop by and say happy Christmas, and give you your present, of course!" He smiled, turning his attention to his satchel and beginning to root inside.

"Oh no, it's fine!" Nara said quickly. "I wasn't doing anything - just reading." She stumbled over her words a bit, and her heart raced nervously.
"Merry Christmas to you, too!"

"What were you reading?" He wondered curiously, "I was never all that great at reading, but now I love a quiet night with a - " the male paused and then shook his head, laughing. "Geez, don't I sound like the most fun ever." His antenna folded over slightly, but he was still laughing. "Have you got any Christmas plans?" He wondered as he finally pulled out his chosen package. It was wrapped in sparkly silver paper and had a little gift tag messily taped onto it. Inside, she would find a small glass terrarium, with grass and dirt and a little succulent. He thought it was cute because they had met with her learning earth magic. He hoped she'd appreciate the present. He had spent a great amount of time trying to decide what would make a cool gift.

"I was just doing a little more studying on Earth magic." Nara felt her face heat up. How big of a nerd was she?? She laughed along with him, to cover it up.
"Uh - not as of right now! I'll probably just be here by myself," she said in response to his question. "How about you?"

Polaris smiled, "you'll be an expert in no time!" He declared brightly, his ears perking eagerly. "Hey, I bet you'll be teaching me intermediate earth at this rate." He continued cheerfully. He wasn't sure he was going to pursue any further magic. Especially with light magic taking up so much time. It was an intermediate magic he had never tried before. There was no basic prequisite. As he heard she'd be alone on Christmas, however, Polaris felt a little guilty. He didn't want to sound like he was contrasting as he said, "just spending the day with my foster kids." The quad explained passively. He was eager for her to open the present but didn't want to push. Maybe she was saving it for Christmas.

"Thank you so much!" she cried, taking the gift. "I - no one's ever done this for me before! Thank you! God - I'm making a mess of this - want to come inside? I was just about to make some hot cocoa.. if you want some.." Her voice trailed off and she fidgeted with one of her primaries, holding the silver-wrapped gift carefully in the other talon.

The male beamed to see her response to the gift, he was almost overcome with joy to have been the cause of such emotion. He had paced and pondered trying to decide. But to see that he had decided correctly was a glorious thing. "Hey! It's nothing at all, really! I love buying presents!" And he really did mean it. Most parts of buying presents anyway. sometimes the spending of money was a bit less pleasurable considering it was not something easily available. "Oh chii, are you sure?" The male fretted, "I mean id never be able to say no to hot cocoa on a day like this. But I'd hate to over stay my welcome." The male continued, ruffling his mane with a broad paw.

"Oh, it's no trouble! I'd love it if you came. It gets a little lonely sometimes," Nara admitted. "I like being by myself and all, but sometimes I just need a friend, you know?" She gave him a half-smile, but it didn't quite reach her eyes.

"Yeah! Absolutely. With Kayden and Katelyn growing up, im rather scared that one day they'll just up and forget about me." He admitted shyly, ducking his head ever so slightly as he stated this. The quad shifted his weight, telling her, "well, you know I'll always be here for you." He promised lightly, "and you can always come and visit me!" The last thing he wanted was to imagine her lonely. "Maybe we could do something together on Christmas Eve?" He suggested, tipping his head slightly. He wanted to make sure she wouldn't be lonely over Christmas time.

"No one could forget about you, Po," Nara reassured him, opening the door wider to let him in. Her heart fluttered at his words, and she told it silently to shut up. "I'd love to visit you - that sounds lovely!"

Polaris laughed, "I think you're pretty awesome too," he told her, his tail wagging happily. The male nodded his head, flashing his pale teeth in a grin. "I know! I took them sledding the other day, my goodness, they had the time of their lives." Polaris was almost emotional recalling it as he smiled broadly still. "I love the snow!" The quad all but purred, "oh my Chii, I'd love marhsmallows!" He declared, following her inside

"Alright!" Nara smiled, listening to Polaris's chatter. She got out the bag of marshmallows, her cocoa powder, and two mugs, putting some milk in a pan on the stove. She let it heat up for a while, periodically stirring it. She added the cocoa, happy to have something to do. Once it was finished, she poured some into each mug, adding several marshmallows. She set one of the mugs at her own place at the table, giving the other to Polaris. "Here's your cocoa!"
