What is the idea of the concentration?
The idea is to capture a broken world where the people have lost everything and have become corrupt, dull and machine-like. There seems to be no freedom, no life, no hope. Yet nature and light will always survive, and so, life comes back to this dead world. In this broken mechanical universe, hope is represented by nature, plants, animals, colors, and light.
How does the concentration show growth?
The main growth is the rendering in the drawings. As the concentration advances, there is more color and more realistic rendering of the figures. They start out mainly in black and white with some dark colors like red and blue and then eventually more lively colors like yellow, green, lighter blues etc.
The quality of the shading with the ink will also become more realistic in later drawings
