Description
The morning sun on the mists was producing interesting lighting effects one morning at Sandy Ridge Park, when a Great Egret obligingly flew over. Β The result struck me as a scene of enchantment. ΒRelated content

Beautiful! And you're right! The lighting effects with the mist and the water are spectacular! Great that you were able to catch the reflection at that moment.

I find it quite enchanting too. This landing is something we don't see very often on this type of photos. It makes this photo uncommon but, moreover, it brings life, and the reflection is very beautiful too.
Maybe I would have prefer if the plants were perfectly sharp =O

Thanks for your thoughtful comments, and I agree that sharper plants would have been preferable. Β The ones on the left and in the center are actually a considerable ways in front of the egret, which is why they appear less focused, and, of course, shooting at higher shutter speeds also reduces depth of focus. Β So in this case, it would have entailed a trade-off--as do most decisions in life! Β

Incredible timing, the obliging egret,Β even timed the flight to centre itself over the fronds.

Thanks! Β Truth be told: I managed to fire off half a dozen shots while the egret was flying, and I simply posted the best one. Β But it did assume a very obliging pose! Β Β
