Description Unlike most warblers, this little Yellow Rump seemed not to mind my presence as it flitted around nearby me for almost five minutes at Sandy Ridge Park in Lorain, OH.  Talk about "being in the zone"--trying to focus on a frenetic little warbler will do it to you every time!  It triggered my biggest dopamine rush of the week!

These are interesting looking birds. We have them out back, but due to some incident out there, I can't go back out. So one of the little dears showed up in my yard.   This is an amazing shot.

Here's hoping. They seem to prefer hiding in the treetops here. At least they're here. ^^

Really nice shot Ter, I had some around this morning ,but they stayed way up in the tree tops. This is one of my favorite Warblers.

Nice shot, Ter.  Such a darling little bird!

Jamie thinks you should set up on a bench at Sandy's Ridge with your camera on a tripod and your grading in your lap.  The birds will get used to your presence after awhile.  Maybe you could adjust the tripod so you just have to lean forward to shoot.  Might be an interesting experiment...

I appreciate the suggestion--only if I'm grading, I'll miss all the warblers, and if I keep popping my head up to watch for warblers, I'll never get through any papers!    But I'm going to do something else you suggested, which is to spend all day Tuesday (which is supposed to be sunny) at Sandy Ridge, and then when it gets too bright for good photography around ten, I'll stop and grade papers for a few hours and then head back out for more photography.  I actually went today, too, and Toty accompanied me.  Amazingly, the cloudy skies cleared up almost entirely after we arrived, and the woods were full of warblers and orioles and vireos, oh my!

I'm glad you're taking advantage of it all!  I look forward to seeing what pops into your viewfinder in the weeks to come.

Superb photo and capture my friend of a beautiful bird with stunning detail and caught in a natural pose. You just cannot beat being in the zone.

Avian migration has been a little slow to get started here, but things are now starting to pick up.
