The way I've done it, Diaboromon's body was eradicated, yes, and the virus took flight... leaving the data of the net digi to fall back to digiworld, taking the form of eggs. Old Elecmon sure didn't know what to make of the one-eyed digi that presented itself to him, but he cared for it anyway. Taught it to do right. And finally, it departed the village as a well-behaved In-training Tsume.

Another difference from the original. She's a girl.

And thus, she ran into Rachal eventually, and the two teamed up, and became Digimon and Digidestined.

So remember kids. Just because something LOOks evil, doesn't mean that it'll always be that way...
