Description
The Storm Character went through a number of changes to get a more - ahem - "dignified" look! Which I personally agree with, I was a little shocked at the exposed breasts in the first version and slightly colored breasts in the second version - didn't seem to capture the Storm that I knew.Colored in Photoshop 5 with a Wacom Intuos Graphics Tablet.

She's already wearing a glorified bikini. Could just put white spandex on her legs and belly and it would look nothing we haven't seen before.

well you wouldnt believe it, but i had favorited this earlier today, and while i was watching storm videos on youtube, i came across "storm: marvel nemisis", and i looked at the outfit she was wearing and i thought it looked familiar, i then went back and looked through all my favorited storm pics and there it was, the same outfit, i thought it was so funny.

Everything you draw is fantastic but this costume concept is not super imaginative. I guess the response the average X-Book reader is supposed to have is one that is all libido so I bet it will be successful. I think it is wierd that the White Queen has more conservative gear now than Storm. Emma used to just kick it in her corset, panties, hooker boots and cape. Now Storm is in less clothes than Emma. Trippy.
I prefered that Joan Jett storm with the Mohawk and such from the late 100s of Uncanny. She had lost her powers or something and was hanging out with Callisto and the Morlocks.
I also like that Inferno/Siege Perilous-Outback time period costume as well. I tihnk that was a design from Mark Silvestri. I am not entirely sure since there were a lot of artists on X-characters at that time. It was still kind of latex fetish style but it was more dignified than what she got to wear usually.

They all look great, but dignified or not I just love the first design!

is it wrong to prefer the first one...? it really doesnt seem that out of character to me. remember... this is the team member that used to walk around the mansion "buckey nay-kid" watering all the plants with rain clouds, like it was nothing! i think its most effective, cuz the bad guy'll be so distracted waiting for some boob slippage that they won't see the fastball special comin!

Of course, I have to be myself and prefer the No.1 but then, that's me...
Her skin colouring in particular... is that custom[ized] brushes or filling-in the 'lasso-ed' areas? For some reason I'm assuming it's the lasso approach, forgive me if I am wrong.
Superb artwork, to boot.

I don't really do customized brushes - just pencil tool mostly (usually at 100% but sometimes at 50%), with a little lasso and gradient tool to clean the edges. I really try to use the most basic tools and just try to make good decisions!

Wow... never occurred to me - pencil tool instead of brush tool..? I am not experienced, get dazed and confused with guys in the know discussing those downloadable brushes or the ones they create...
I'll give it a whirl ASAP, thanks a lot!

I prefer the last one. I like the fact that the X is very prominent. I miss her cape.
