I saw the Secret of NIMH on its first release in 1982 and it left a lifelong impression on me. 40 years(!) later, I'm still a fan to this day. I really dug the poster art featured on the Varese Sarabande LP and never really had any ambition to produce one of my own -- until now. I was recently listening to the soundtrack (which, in select passages, sounds a LOT like Poltergeist) and the first choral notes of the Main Title track got me thinking about the animated title sequence and Mrs. Brisby at the end holding the amulet while radiating light and fire and the whole concept for the jacket design appeared completed in my head -- and impressed on me as something I really ought to do. So here it is. Like it? Put it to good use.
