Description
Even though I've had this album for a while, I've never been enthusiastic about the jacket design. Granted, I was a little slow to redesign it, however my procrastination wound up paying off... While researching the original graphic campaign, I came across three or four of Saul Bass' hitherto unreleased rejected poster design concepts photographed at a Stanley Kubrick exhibit at LACMA this year (2012)! The images weren't much by themselves; however, like puzzle pieces, I saw how they could be combined to form a dramatic new image possessing both literal and symbolic attributes. A morning of image editing later, I finally had a liner jacket at which I was pleased to gaze. What better way to graphically represent a rejected score than with rejected promotional artwork? Mission accomplished!
