Description This is my Winning entry to the Chicago Fashion Foundation 2009 scholarship!.

The theme was the 1893 Chicago's World Fair. I studied the fair for two- three weeks and having a antique dealer background I sketched out a bunch of designs though nothing really fitting... then after a day or two I sketch this one out from no where. I used the Gov't building to inspire the shape of the skirt and the applique design is repeated from the lining of the Vest.

I am not a huge fan of period clothing but the turn of the century is so interesting to me.

This is so awesome! I really love the vest--it adds something to the outfit and makes it feel complete.

Sure it will. You're a great designer/seamstress. I'm learning how to sew right now. Not to sound like a kissass, but I'd like to be able to sew like that in the future.

XD not at all. If you saw my first works you would see I have come a longggg way. It takes alot of practice and ambition. I just interviewed for an internship so I am hopping that I get it. Not to add to my projects XD but got to keep busy. If it is your passion go for it!

I sure hope you get it. Sewing isn't my passion really, not like my friend, but I'm very interested in it. I enjoy design and to me the idea of making garments out of just a few yards of fabric is fascinating.

me too! printing and dying fabric is amazing too. I have done lots of cosplay before but the collection of this size is a first for me. I always thought my designs were not that strong in the past but they have really gotten better after school

Lovely~. Fell fitted, beautiful model. THANK YOU SO MUCH, for that mini-hat thingy. When people think "mini-hat", they think a small hat straight up on the head with a veil over the woman's face. Thanks again~!

Thank you XD I was really lucky to have this model. I really love hats. So any time I can use them I will try. ^^
