Description
NOT for resale. I am out of prints so I am releasing this for study, costuming and enjoyment. www.facebook.com/ApocalypsePri⦠is the link where the various ladies costuming as this art can be found. There are groups springing up here in the states and internationally too. A lot of cons in the next year have a group of girls planning to attend, here and abroad. Watch for them!Love you!

Interesting concept, but all I see is painful places to chafe and burn.Β

These were drawn as commentary, not to be work in real life. But weirdly, like a million women have decided to make the costumes. Haha. And they look AMAZING.

I suppose it doesn't help that I encountered this piece right after reading through The Hawkeye Initiative for the first time. It had me thinking about distorted representations of women, particularly in comics. Nor does it help I've recently watched Heroes of Cosplay, which stirred up a number of strong feelings about how women are represented in a lot of popular media. But you are a very talented artist.

I know people on Heroes of Cosplay, and the weird, fun house mirror way that the show portrays them does weird me out. It's bizarre and off putting.
As for this piece, read through the description on the low res version of it in my gallery album. You might change your mind. I will say that the sexuality of it has more to do with my discomfort with the original princesses and their art than with anything else. Hence the teeny waists, the huge eyes and the cleavage. Fairy tales were always about sex, blood and fear for me. What would have happened if the sexy, doe eyed, barely restrained Disney females all lost everything? The dresses would be in tatters, and they would act and appear a lot different.
Β I told people they wouldn't like my versions of the princesses. LOL

I think I can name them all but I'm not sure about the one in the bottom right corner , and is that Cinderella holding the umbrella?
