Alissa gasped, flinging herself out of her bed. She had grown up with two brothers, and she had learned early on that if you heard noises in your room you dived for the floor, lest you (and your bed) be soaked by a water gun.

"Woah, what the hell?" Ashleigh roared, moving out of the way of the flying twelve year old. "Relax man. I was just getting up. Alarm, you know?" She grinned at the girl at her feet. Alissa glared.

"Sorry. What time is it?" Alissa mumbled as she pulled herself into a sitting position. The sun had risen, though not very far. Why am I awake this early?

"It's just about six thirty. Trust me, I wouldn't be up this early either if I had a choice. Unfortunately, us losing competitors have to clean the lake out early." Ashleigh rummaged through her dresser. "Hey, this look good?"

"Uh yeah, sure." Alissa wasn't paying much attention. Since she was up, she might as well stay up.

Alissa dragged herself over to her own dresser and fumbled for her bathing suit. It looked stupid, just as stupid as her stupid pink phone. Couldn't her mom have gotten a cooler pattern than Azumarill? Apparently not.

Alissa was momentarily distracted from her bathing suit by her phone, which was buzzing on her nightstand. Alissa went over and picked it up. It was a text message from Nami.

'alissa u awake????' Alissa groaned. She hated it when people used text-speech.

'yes. what?' She put the phone down, watching her roommate leave the room followed by her Espeon, muttering something about her partner. Alissa's phoned buzzed again.

'meet me @ the docks. NOW!!1' Alissa glared at her phone. She then reached for the suit, along with a shirt and a pair of shorts. Something told her that this was not going to be good.

By the time Alissa had arrived at the docks, the sun's rays were beginning to touch the ground, but the air was still cool with morning mist. Alissa shivered, wishing she had thought to bring her hoodie. She scanned the nearby buildings and bushes for Alissa, but didn't notice anything until she heard a loud "Psssssst, up here!"

Alissa looked up. Standing on one of the big cruise ships was Nami, waving cheerily at her.

"Nami! What are you doing up there?" Alissa hissed. That idiot! She could get in soooo much trouble!

"What does it look like? I'm sneaking away! I already lost, and there's no way that I'm staying. Besides, my friend probably needs me. I am the second in command after all!"
"Don't be stupid, you'll get caught!" Nami snorted.

"Puh-lease. I'm a ninja, remember. I just wanted to tell where I was going. That, and I didn't want to steal this phone." Nami tossed the phone over the railing, and Alissa caught it, mildly stunned. "Jeez, at least wish me luck." Alissa looked at her friend. She would miss her…

"Alright. Good luck, I guess." Alissa grinned awkwardly. There went her only friend on this island. Unless…

Once Nami had safely stowed away, Alissa walked towards the town square. Once she was in visual range of the tower Nami had tried to sneak into yesterday, he pulled out Nami's phone and opened up the contacts. Selecting 'Help&Concerns' she sent a text.

'it has come to my attention that the owner of this phone is attempting to sneak away on one of the cruise ships. Please see to this.' Alissa smiled. Looked like her friend wasn't leaving so soon after all.
