I think Jiraya would have a tough time trying to decide which of these girls is better, so let them settle the issue with a eye catching fight ^_^Related content

first, i would suggest the light hair (defensive) character not have rock so far back. in doing so she has limited her options. and, one is that her punch will also have very little power. when balance is that bad, the hips can not provide appropriate power. this is also evident in the positioning of her front foot, which is hyperextended like the rest of her leg. it would have been better to rock back and roll on the heel, bringing the toes up. in doing so she would provide for a full body motion capacity in her return strike.
however, to be honest, she had a better solution than the leg tap. she could have easily hooked the others arm/wrist, and with her being so far off balance, and controlled her. she would easily have a umber of options from that.
currently, her only true option, other than praying the red hair does not slip and hyperflex her knee in the fall, is to reverse her weight distribution and use her shoulder as a weapon. that would separate them, again use the lack of balance of the red hair girl to her advantage, and do a lot more physical and psychological damage to her opponent than a poor side punch would do.
and, as a note, considering how bad the red hair girl is on her center of balance, the other may actually be helping her by shifting her leg outward.

forgive me for being the first to say this, but they are relatively stiff, static, and very off balance.
more with the red hair girl, who will have very little power in her strike. though, the other has all most zero chance to evade in her current position as well.
not bad, but missing many dynamic elements.

The pose was meant to show a mid point between an attack that did not connect, and a counter. Sakura trying a left hook, Ino dropping into a low stance and pulling Sakura's front leg out of position with her forward leg. Then Ino could shift her weight forward and connect her punch with Sakura's side
