Yeah, the ending was kinda disappointing too. And the art style changed during the 3 issues, I guess it didn't sell well.

did you paint her directly in ZBrush? I'm loving the metal detailing.

I used the "textured metal" material and added the details in photoshop. The highpoly was really heavy and I had to decimate it, so I didn't have enough resolution to polypaint the details.

This is an amazing sculpt, may I ask, how you sculpted E.V.E.'s mechanical parts? I can't figure out how to sculpt smooth/hard surfaces.

At first I tried to do them directly in ZBrush, but it wasn't clean enough ^^. It's really hard. So I decimated them, imported into Max and did a clean lowpoly on top. Then I subdivided them and sculpted them for the details. It takes too much time though, I'm sure there is a better way, but I'm like you, I don't know how to do that ^^.

Curses, I've had to do that as well with my sculpt(yes, sculpt. Still working on my first one), I was hoping there was a way to do that in Zbrush, but I haven't gotten anywhere close to a smooth surface in Zbrush. Thanks a lot though, it's good to know that I was able to find a way to do it on my own, just wish there was another way. Again, this is an awesome sculpt, for a comic that I really loved.

The best way to smooth a surface is still the TrimDynamic brush, with the square alpha and a really low value ( 1 or 2 ). The H polish brush works too. I generally use that on highly subdivided meshes. Also

, if you smooth with the shift key and release the key while keeping your stylus down, it will relax the mesh instead of smoothing. It's the same effect that the Relax slider, but locally.

Yeah zbrush strength definitely is NOT hard surface lol.. hopefully R7 fixes that there adding low polygon tools to Zbrush but getting clean mechanical part in zbrush takes almost as long as it takes to retop and decimate it

You should try out Shadowbox in ZBrush. It takes some getting used to but it's pretty nice for some hard surface pieces.
