I am trying to learn how to use gouache, and I learned a lot from this piece.
One thing I am still having trouble with is gauging how thick I need the paint to be for different effects.
Oh well. On to more practice!

Amazingly cute <3 Maybe a bit of it was coincidental - from the thumbnail it looked less like fur and more like he was wearing a really huge scarf - but only made it all the cuter.
Don't use gouache myself, but Jean Giraud was a master in his day. There's bound to be some writing on his methods; perhaps it'd be useful.
