So I finished this story, but I wanted to share this art I found! I apologize for bad anatomy/general scappyness, but it’s very old and only meant to serve as visual concepts for the characters.

While looking for artwork of CzarGreymon for Tai’s trippy dream TF in Chapter 9 (which may or may not get uploaded), I stumbled upon this artwork of all the Carriers together. I figured, “Why not post this?” and uploaded it. Everyone shown except Yoleimon is a redesign of Digimon characters created by Nikki NeeP, and you can learn more about the originals at the link at the bottom of this long description. As for these? I view them as more like the Savers Agumon redesign- they’re kind of the same species, but not really.

ABOUT THE CARRIERS

The Carriers are weak even as far as Rookie-levels go, but they have a nasty secret. A virus in their DigiCores will- when exposed to the right DigiDestined- trigger that human to transform and corrupt into a servant of Dominomon. When this happens, the Carrier dies and can’t reincarnate at Primary Village. In battle, they can’t even beat a Champion, so they need constant surveillance and protection. They were created by Reevemon and raised by Baronessmon, two original Digimon who are Dominomon’s closest attendants. Note that- until the virus is activated and the Carrier is destroyed- they are separate characters from the DigiDestined, with slightly varying but similar personalities.

FROM TOP LEFT

Taimon: Rookie level, Vaccine, knows Petite Fire and Dragon Kick

A Digimon who defected from the Domino Army. The flame on his tail represents his life force. If it goes out, he will begin to die. However, if he is healed quickly, the flame will come back after a short time. Though he was modeled after Tai, he has a more childish, innocent personality, putting complete faith in the DigiDestined. However, he shares Tai’s determination and courage.

Matimon: Rookie level, Data, knows Glowing Blaze and Little Wolf Claw

A Digimon who was close to Baronessmon and enjoyed her pampering. However, he also knows Taimon well and misses him dearly. He saw Taimon run away, but declined his invitation to join him. Like Matt, he tends to be ruled by his emotions and has a sensitive side, but is more open than Matt. He is close to Tiikeimon. As time goes on, he learns of what happens to the Carriers once they active their virus and defects from the Domino Army.

Soramon: Rookie level, Data, knows Wind Blade and Dive Kick

We didn’t see much of Soramon in the fic itself, as she became part of SaberPhoenixmon shortly after her introduction.

Jyoumon: Rookie level, Data, knows Fountain Blast and Hydro Claw

Jyoumon was an interesting case. I kept him in this humanoid form. I know Nikki NeeP’s story had a quadrupedal form for him, but I did not use it (partially so he fit in with the other Carriers, partially because that form was very plot important/specific to her story and partially to avoid ripping her off completely).

Meimimon: Rookie level, Data, knows Stinging Nettles and Poison Kiss

She- like Soramon- didn’t really get a big part in Domino Effect. In a special ceremony with Soramon and Izimon, she became a General rather quickly. However- when Gennai’s cure is used- her DigiEgg emerges from Mimi. This DigiEgg is the first hint of hope for the otherwise hopeless Carriers.

Izimon: Rookie level, Data, knows Shocker Spray and Thunder Claw

Same as Meimimon and Soramon, we don’t see much of this guy. Not much else to say.

Daevimon: Rookie level, Vaccine, knows Blazing Bullet and Raptor Edge

A cheerful and friendly Digimon who nonetheless wants to fulfill his purpose as a Carrier as quickly as possible. He is tricked by Palmon in order for her to feed a de-digivolved Upamon and Bukamon. Afterwards, he finds Davis and merges with him, becoming a powerful General.

Kennimon: Rookie level, Virus, knows Stinger Lance and Dark Claw

The only true Virus-type of the bunch, Kennimon was shown to be mentally unstable. He is merciless against opponents and (while no match for, say, a Greymon), he is able to bully weaker creatures such as Gazimon and paralyze them with his Dark Claw. He has since donated his DigiCore to create KaiserKuwagamon. The transformation process may or may not have affected Ken’s Dark Spore, which once lay dormant inside of him...

Tiikeimon: Rookie level, Vaccine, knows Thunder Clap and Air Breath

A close friend of Matimon, but he doesn’t know he will die when his DigiCore is released, so he still serves the Domino Army. He proved to be swift during TK’s escape, but not swifter than Pegasusmon.

Karimon: Rookie level, Vaccine, knows Quick Scratch and Wonder Purr

Karimon uses her Wonder Purr to make others feel safe around her and induce a mild form of mind control even over stronger Digimon. She demonstrated it during the attack on Toy Town, but the spell wore off on its own.

Kodimon: Rookie level, Vaccine, knows Spiraling Darts and Carbon Coat

We didn’t see much of Kodimon, but he was intelligent and sneaky, bribing a Monitamon to attain his goal of creating MasterAnkyomon. His Carbon Coat is more defensive than offensive, creating a black coating around his body that protects against attacks. Again, no match for a Champion, but most other Rookies would be quickly dissuaded by it.

Yoleimon: Rookie level, Data, knows Spinning Feather and Twisted Winds

This was the only Carrier I designed from scratch. She was somewhat reckless and created the first of the Generals- BossAquilamon. For her color palette, I went with purples and colors that go well with purples, basing the palette off of Yolei’s hair color. As for why she was first? I suck at writing Yolei, plain and simple. I will usually TF the characters I can’t write well first...
