That's different. Except for Beast Wars, Optimus is always Optimus and Megatron is always Megatron.

Not really; RiD Optimus is different from Armada/Energon/Cybertron Optimus, who is different from Bay Optimus, who is different from Animated Optimus, who is different from Prime Optimus... and of course, those are all different from G1 Optimus (who himself has several different versions).
