What better way to introduce new characters than with a Clone High meme?
Actually, I've been playing with the idea of a new AU for ESL for a while now, especially since those are actually canon in the comic's setting, I just hadn't found a good opportunity to develop it and do anything with it

Introducing the Nerd AU, where Daria is an otaku, Ralph is a huge nerd, and Ellie is a social media influencer with thousands of followers on her Instagram!
Not only that, but Ralph is actually pining for Ellie while being completely clueless that Daria has a huge crush on him
So kind of like Clone High, with Abe, Cleo and Joan
In fact, the last part of the comic is basically one of my favorite jokes from the show , adapted into this setting!

Btw here are the two Instagram posts in a bit higher definition: Ralph and Ellie
I promise I'll expand this AU soon, in the future!
Honestly making a diner for the background was tedious, but I think it turned out okay
It was a lot more fun to do those fake Instagram posts! Though I wish they could look a little more HD in the final comic
Also, what are Riverbanks and New Provence you say? Guess we'll have to wait to find out
