Very nice. The exif info says you were using a 5mm focal length (?! so you must have been very close? Or cropped out a lot of the photo?). And do you remember if this was done with a ND filter to get the long exposure? Hope you don't mind the questions!

tfavretto In reply to quiet-snowfall [2006-08-17 16:28:19 +0000 UTC]

Actually, the 5mm is just the default data from the little zoom lens on the Canon PowerShot A60. The field of view isn't anywhere near as wide as it would be with a real lens at 5mm. It's more comparable to 35mm, actually. So I have no clue why it says 5mm.

And I didn't have any filters at the time I took this shot. I just waited until it was almost dark out so I could use a longer shutter speed without having everything come out too bright.

Thank you for your questions, I'm always glad when someone takes an interest in what I'm doing.

Hey, thanks for the answers! You know, my questions are always a bit selfish - I look at photos from guys like you (this is a compliment) and try to understand and learn as much as I can. Londonxpress is amazing for that - looking at his photo descriptions is like having a private tutor! So I really appreciate you responding. I thought the 5mm was the big clue and I had the whole scene figured out in my mind based on that! You sure did a nice job of it - and thanks again for the response.

A lovely water shot Great composition. I'm actually really looking forward to fall this year. I don't know exactly why. It hasn't been hot at all here for a while (lower 80's mostly). I do love summer though. I don't appreciate it enough when it's here Anyway, enough of my babbling. Keep up the great photos!

Oh, so gorgeous.. I really like the softness and tenderness of this picture. The leaves give beautiful colors and the soft water brings a dreamy feeling to the picture. A really lovely picture here.
