Another commission for
Martin: Hey, look at this cool glowing acorn I found!
Bart: Uh, you probably shouldn't play with things that glow green in this town?
Martin: Why not?

*A few moments later

Martin: This acorn looks so delicious!
Nelson: I am going to start punching you and I don't know when I'm going to stop.
Bart: I'm with him.

I think Milhouse was my favorite to draw on this one. I like how he looks in every single frame, but his "Oh, gosh, I'm so small" look in the last panel is easily the best thing I've drawn in a while. The rest are okay, I guess.
Bart's hair is deceptively hard to draw. It's got that same quality of hands where you'd think it'd be easy, but if you draw it just the slightest bit off, it looks really weird, to the point of distracting. I had like three different versions of squirrel Bart trying to get that right and I still feels off to me. Oh well.

That background was a killer, which was made by compositing two different episode screengrabs together and then redrawing them to be one image. The worst part, however, was the fact that I started working on the background without placing the figures in it. The end result was that when it came time to crop the image so that the frame was centered on the figures, I ended up cropping out the parts that took me the most time to work on. If I'd done what i normally do, which is to put the figures in to the background reference and then crop the image appropriately first, it probably would have saved me three hours. But I was so anxious to get that started so I could get it done that I skipped doing that, inevitably making so much more work for myself than I needed to.
