Ever since I redid the first one, I've always intended to use this particular idea as a measuring stick to work determine just how much my skills have improved, but then I never touched it again until this month. I meant for this to be the final Withctober pic so that I could have the most time possible to do the most with it that I could.

And I'm pretty pleased of the results here. This not only made use of lighting and shading techniques that I've learned since I started out, but was also an incorporation of special brushes into it as well. The aim was to see if I could use those brushes to add abstract detail and the suggestion of textures to the background. I think it has mostly worked. I'm not sure if this is really the best way to use these brushes, but the end result isn't terrible. Not what I was hoping to accomplish, but definitely something I feel I made worth within the context of the pic itself.
It also helps that I darkened the background a lot to make the flash and light effects stand out better. The end result produces a pretty dramatic image and I like it.

The lesson to be learned from this is that Maple is not someone you want to piss off. She will zap you.
The joke behind this is falling back on the side-quest from the Oracle of Seasons/Ages game, where you had to repeatedly run into Maple when she came by on her broom and then steal whatever stuff she dropped. I just decided to have Maple react like how a real witch would under the circumstances.
She definitely won't have any troubles with Link again, that is certain. Might have problems with Gannon, though.
