So, I had set aside June to work on these, but it seems I got them all done in a week. Hours at work have been going slow. This was another of Schnops's mock covers where the moment I saw it, I knew I was going to put color to it. I got pretty into it, using various effects and such to make the titles stand out. I even added an old paper texture to the "Tales From The" section, though you can't really tell now because the text is pretty small.
I also added in some little jokes of my own in ways that used the basic design of official logos, which I'm not sure I can use because of trademarks. I don't know, is Entertaining Comics still company? Whatever, I made a joke logo around their design.

The frog is obviously Veronica from the Archie comics, which Schnops appears to be a fan of. The witch in this is . . . well, okay, I know the gypsy witch cliche is rather, shall we say, not socially savvy at this point, but this is all based on 1920s comic tropes so take it for what it is. Damn, if the Romani don't have a great aesthetic going in their fashion, though. Very bright colors, but it's all pretty carefully color coordinated in a very appealing way. I couldn't possibly have matched the detail of the designs without spending another few hours on it, so I went for more abstracted, but tried to keep it at least faithful to the color styles. I do like the result.

Some of you might be asking what Veronica did to deserve this. Aside from being one of Schnops's favorite characters to draw, I couldn't tell you. You'll have to ask him. All I can say is she makes a lovely frog.
