No idea. Part of the plot for the episode to make their pursuers think the "D.I.N.G.U.S." was destroyed. Still, I would have loved to see Optimus keep his trailer. At least he has it in Dark of the Moon. From what I can tell it's not just a base or anything like that, it transforms with him into wings and engines for him to fly and also converts into a sort of combat shield too. Pretty awesome I think, and a lot more practical than a stationary platform. **grins**
And I SWEAR Optimus got TALLER! O.O
