Description This is for an Art Swap on another site. It is an approx. 5" pendant carved in Walnut. I will be adding beading to the cord this weekend and will update when its done. It is a loose (drunk-whittler) interpretation of a Papua New Guinea style.

Not usually a fan of painting the wood, but it is limited just enough to work here.

I agree. However, the paint seems to add a certain amount of "punch"the piece did not have as plain wood. I have been adding patinas to most of my pieces for a while - with either fire or paint - the paint is just easier to control (and doesn't set of my fire alarms!).
