This may sound really strange, but.. when i looked at this photo on the wee thumbnails in your gallery, i looked soo like a little dog sitting. Quite cool actually...have a peek and see if you can see what i mean...? Very lovely picture though - love the look and texture (right word?) of the water flowing or skimming over the rocks, it looks amazing. And that dog thing is fantastic.

I agree, those colours are intense! Where was this taken? You must've had a nice time walking around that area.

Great shot, vibrant colours. I agree with that a longer exposure would have added to this

Hum, very beautiful one... It would be more powerful with a very long exposure (more than 10 seconds)...

You know, I've seen so many generic waterfall pictures in the course of the last few years that I should logically have grown sick of them, but here is clinching proof that each is better than the last - although in this case, that's a literal phrase. *nods* I'd give a lot to live in a place like this, or nearby something so beautiful as a waterfall.
This one in particular worked in two ways. The photographer did justice to its grandeur, and the falls were worthy of having someone with such skill come to capture them. The use of the polarizer may have been slightly unnecessary, as there's so little sky, but the color did come through very richly both there and in the plant life. The high saturation is just fascinating - there's no shortage of things to look at!
I'd love to take my sketchbook there one day, lie down outside, and just draw.

You're totally right about the polarizer and the sky...
the polarizer was the only way to expose a bit longer so the water looks blurry. It was also the only way to remove the reflections of the wet stones.
here are two images of the waterfall:

Ahh, you make a very good point. It doesn't look so bad without the polarizer, but when it's compared, you definitely made the right choice. It focuses clearly on the waterfall in the second one, rather than the rocks. Nice.
Thanks for the comparison images - very appreciated.
